I'm excited to join the Coffee Loving Design Team in welcoming you to the Fall Coffee Lovers Hop! I'm sure this hop will break records for participation and for awesomeness...just as in hops of the past!  Just you wait, will we hit over 800 link-ups???

I'm also excited to share that I'm a SUPER SPONSOR and will be giving ONE LUCKY PARTICIPANT a gift certificate to my shop for $25.00 AND a sweet Coffee-Lovers TREAT bag of goodies!  Make sure to comment on our posts!!!

So let's get this party started!  Today I'm sharing the first of my cards for this hop.  I hope you enjoy them.  I slaved away while sick as a dog creating it.  LOL.  I'm still a bit under the weather, but cardmaking has a way with taking the "icky" feelings away!
I decided to make a little Peek-a-boo fall card using one of my yummy Fun Stampers Journey Dies. After stamping my background (Whimsy Wallpaper) and spritzing with Shimmer Gold Color Splash, I diecut the leaf die (Summer Branch Die) onto the cardstock to create a partial cut.  I raised some of the leaves a little and pinched them to create dimension.  After that, I mounted a piece of Cranberry Bliss Cardstock underneath.    I also stamped the sentiment onto a banner die (Cookie Exchange Die Set) cut from Orange Rave Cardstock.   Both the sentiment and the latte cup (Hey Sugar Stamp Set) were stamped using Hazelnut Blend Ink.
Taking a closer peek at the card, you can see the splatter I added to the card.  I love adding splatter to my cards lately and the effect is quite simple to achieve.  Here, I used a combination of Gold, Silver, Orange Rave Silk and some watered down Butter Cream acrylic paint.
To finish off today's card, I distressed and curled the edges of the stamped panel a bit, added an Olive Green satin ribbon and some Natural Thread tied in a bow and mounted the panel onto an Olive Green Cardstock base.  I hope you enjoyed this creation!

Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop: Day 6: Tiny Bubbles...

Hello Happy Hoppers!  Today I'm switching it up a bit.  Not because I've had enough coffee, but because my Matcha is feeling a bit shafted...You see, I AM A MATCHAHOLIC.  Yes, it's true.  I drink at least one cup of this frothy goodness every day so I think it's about time that I shared the love of the almighty Matcha!  Soooo..It all started this morning on my drive to work.  I planned up a bit of a bubbly idea...and literally, thought about it and planned it all day long!
When I got home tonight, I whipped up a cup of Matcha, and headed to my craft room:
I grabbed a few spoonful (or two) of foam off the top of my tea and placed them on the watercolor paper.  Oh those bubbles....Tiny bubbles, big bubbles, rainbow bubbles, just the most delicious bubbles you ever did see!  After that dried a bit, I dabbed off the leftovers with a cloth and blasted it with a heat gun.

Next it was on to creating the card:
Using some Pan Pastels (in the colors of the "rainbow" seen in the bubbles), I rubbed a bit here and there onto the paper and on the vellum circles I diecut.  I also used the regular and pierced dies to create some additional circles.  Once assembled I selected my focal image...
Yeah, I like Big Cups (Matcha bowls) and I cannot lie!  I stamped the sentiment onto the largest vellum circle then painted the backside with some Olive Green acrylic paint.  After that dried, I burnished it with the end of the paintbrush to create the "white" for contrast and dimension.
Look at those gorgeous trails and pools of matcha powder...MMMM...It's a bit difficult to see the shimmer here, but there is a golden sheen all over this panel from the Pan Pastels.  I decided it needed a bit of coppery color, so I splattered a bit of Bronze Silk on too.  Beads of Journey Glaze were also randomly placed on the piece for fun.

I mounted this piece "wonky style" onto some vellum, added Green Olive satin ribbon, then applied it to another panel of watercolor paper.  It was mounted onto a Hazelnut Blend card base.

And the final outcome...Ahhhh  delish!  Don't worry, only about a teaspoon of my cup of matcha tea was wasted in this adventure... I drank the rest.  YUM!

It's Day 3: A little sip of Sunshine!

Hey happy hoppers!  It's Father's Day today and I'm celebratin' my Dad!  My parents have been enjoying the retired life and have become quite comfortable with galavanting around the world and country without schedules or watches.  They hardly settle down anymore.  This weekend, he went to a Rodeo and is now probably wrangling my sister's chickens.  So while he enjoys his freedom, I'll enjoy my little bit of weekend, do some end-of-the-year teacher work and it's off to school tomorrow. I was thinking of him from start-to finish of this summer-fun project!  Hope you enjoy!
It first started out as an experiment...Coffee beans...gorgeous coffee beans and...vodka!  Soaked those babies for a while in some Amaretto Ciroc and well...Cheers, it was tasty!  Step one complete!
Next I set out to create a little gift envie with the iconic BLOOM images from FSJ.  Oh yes, used some new stamps and Pan Pastels I got at convention and YUM...Step TWO complete...
Step THREE was assembling the envie...I used a staple to attach my vellum/black embossed sentiment to the graph paper behind...and added a cute little clippie I made from a couple leftover coffee cups I had from yesterday's Bible Journaling project.  The clip can be removed and placed in my planner- as my dad will most likely say he has no need for a coffee clip!  It's what's inside that counts.  LOL...
And of course, my little envie had to have something tucked inside...SOOO...I added a Lowe's Gift Card to sweeten the deal.  You see, my Dad doesn't care much about Starbucks, and he thinks it tastes like skunk water, but it was a good prop in the photo don't you think!  He'd say...Lowe's knows, and with him, the card proves it!
Now Step WHATEVER wouldn't be complete without sampling the goods right?  Well, I can say it tastes mighty fine...and I even saved a shot for Dad!  I'll see him tomorrow (If his watch is back on.) to let him sample for himself!

I used the following products from FSJ to create this project:
Pan Pastels
Happy Sentiments:  Available July 1.
Available Now:
Natural Journey Twine (On the shot glass)
