Pizza, Pizza!

Hey there Journey Friends!

I'm BACK again to share another project I worked on but had to keep a tight lip on until today.  Last Sunday was Father's Day and I wasn't able to visit my Dad due to annoying end of the school year paperwork that had to be competed the next day.

My parents are coming over today so I can finally give him the card I made for him for his special day! I was THRILLED to get a fun new stamp set at convention and I knew exactly what I'd christen it for...It is perfectly suited for my Dad!

So when I got home from Convention in AZ and after a day of school work, I headed up to my room to create something FUN for my pops...Take a peek:
Yeah, among many other things, my dad is a PIZZA LOVER!  He dreams of opening up the best Pizza Joint in town and loves the ooey gooey mouthwatering taste of the supreme pizza.  Everywhere he travels, he likes to sample the pizza!
Look at the shine on that pizza...It's just calling your name,  right?  I sure wish I had scented colored pencils because this would be so amazing to smell as yummy as it looks!
I stamped the drippy pizza slice several times on whip cream cardstock using Colorbox Chalk Ink. After that, I used my rectangle dies to cut out the perfect section. I colored the image with my new PanPastels and added some Prismacolor Colored pencil work over that to add more dimension and depth.  Applying the Journey Glaze to the top of the pizza was what put it over the top! :)

If you LOVE this set as much as I do, you'll be able to order it at 12:01 AM July 1 on my shop site here:

Thanks for popping in...see you again!  :)

Summer Coffee Lovers Hop: Day 8: Summer's Here!

Hey there happy hoppers!  Today's the last day of the hop and I decided to share a little scrappy loving page with you.  You see, THAT girl right there is a goofball!  She is my niece and we have lots of fun together when she comes over to visit.  She enjoys sampling all of my coffee, tea and drink concoctions and always says "it's delicious".  I'm not quite sure she really likes them all... as she usually leaves a lot left in the cup when she's done. LOL... Anyway, she does love matcha-but only if it has honey and sweet cream in it...so basically sugar...if you get my drift.  She LOVES fruity teas- kinda likes my boba tea too.  I think her fave is the blueberry and the strawberry infused teas we make in the summer.
Soooo...That's why you see lots of fruity things on this page spread.  It's not because I want to share the newest so-flippin'-fun stamp set called "Beautiful Happiness" and the itty bitty "Slice Fetti" that creates the ultimate shaker action, or the awesome new Simple Stories Albums that will debut in our new catalog July 1.  NOOOOO....It's because THAT girl Makes me happy.  SHE loves my coffee/tea and juicy inventions even if I don't like them!...She's THAT awesome!
So here SHE is in all her funky freshness... 100% Pure Katie Bug...:)
A little spritz action from my Journey Color Splashes (and water) as well as some coloring with Prismacolor Pencils (In hindsight, I wish I would have just left them non-colored).
And for my new FSJ "sister" Eva Bussom...A little tip of the hat to you...My stars are fruity, dont'cha know!  :)
I hope you enjoyed all of my products throughout the hop.  Thanks for coming by, taking a peek and leaving some love behind.  I really appreciate it.

Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop: Day 7: Boxes, Beans and Bows...

***Congratulations go to Claire Broadwater for winning my Flash Prize!!!  Claire can now shop my FSJ site and select $25.00 worth of her most favorite products FREE!***

Hey there happy hoppers!  Today I thought I'd do a little celebratin'!  Yes, you've got that right!  I'm celebratin' my last day of school!  WOO!  Well, not really my last day of school, but the last day my students came to school.  I have to pack my room up and turn my keys in on Monday, but other than that, I'm FREE!  WOOO!

I created a little acetate gift box using an awesome die from FSJ.  This die usually cuts paper only, but with a bit of finagling, I was able to cut this acetate box.  I started out by dripping some FSJ Color Splash colors using a straw then let some of the splats drip a bit.  After letting it dry, I headed up to my scrap room to start working on the other parts to this project.
I used the RETIRING set _ to create 20 little cards that I can place in this box and take with me to the Scrapbook Expo this weekend.  I'll share a few of these cards with friends as a reminder that we need to have a little play-date after the show is over.  I filled the acetate box with some coffee beans, added a ribbon and some sparkle thread and started working on my card.
Here's a closer peek at the yummy coffee beans.  Don't you just wanna shake-shake-shake it? Naaahhh...Just sniff, sniff...Smells soooo good!
I wanted to create a little asymmetrical design for the drippy panel so I trimmed the top and bottom a bit.  After that, I added some star strip diecuts (LOVE THIS DIE SET) on top of some fringed graph paper.  And don't you just love those little people clips?! LOVE THEM!  I added some of the sparkle trim and applied this panel with foam squares to a blue panel I stamped with the "coffee" sentiment in this set.
There are several sentiments in this set and I love each one.  I think this sentiment works best here. This closer peek also helps show the yummy diecut and the fringe paper.  That's a party goin' on right there.  :)
I hope you enjoyed my creation today.  I'll be back again tomorrow to share another fun coffee creation!

Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop: Day 6: Tiny Bubbles...

Hello Happy Hoppers!  Today I'm switching it up a bit.  Not because I've had enough coffee, but because my Matcha is feeling a bit shafted...You see, I AM A MATCHAHOLIC.  Yes, it's true.  I drink at least one cup of this frothy goodness every day so I think it's about time that I shared the love of the almighty Matcha!  Soooo..It all started this morning on my drive to work.  I planned up a bit of a bubbly idea...and literally, thought about it and planned it all day long!
When I got home tonight, I whipped up a cup of Matcha, and headed to my craft room:
I grabbed a few spoonful (or two) of foam off the top of my tea and placed them on the watercolor paper.  Oh those bubbles....Tiny bubbles, big bubbles, rainbow bubbles, just the most delicious bubbles you ever did see!  After that dried a bit, I dabbed off the leftovers with a cloth and blasted it with a heat gun.

Next it was on to creating the card:
Using some Pan Pastels (in the colors of the "rainbow" seen in the bubbles), I rubbed a bit here and there onto the paper and on the vellum circles I diecut.  I also used the regular and pierced dies to create some additional circles.  Once assembled I selected my focal image...
Yeah, I like Big Cups (Matcha bowls) and I cannot lie!  I stamped the sentiment onto the largest vellum circle then painted the backside with some Olive Green acrylic paint.  After that dried, I burnished it with the end of the paintbrush to create the "white" for contrast and dimension.
Look at those gorgeous trails and pools of matcha powder...MMMM...It's a bit difficult to see the shimmer here, but there is a golden sheen all over this panel from the Pan Pastels.  I decided it needed a bit of coppery color, so I splattered a bit of Bronze Silk on too.  Beads of Journey Glaze were also randomly placed on the piece for fun.

I mounted this piece "wonky style" onto some vellum, added Green Olive satin ribbon, then applied it to another panel of watercolor paper.  It was mounted onto a Hazelnut Blend card base.

And the final outcome...Ahhhh  delish!  Don't worry, only about a teaspoon of my cup of matcha tea was wasted in this adventure... I drank the rest.  YUM!

Summer Coffee Lovers Hop Day 5: Coffee Buzz!

Hey there happy hoppers!  It's the FIFTH day of the hop and by now you should pretty much have a coffee lovers BUZZ!!!  So to show how WIRED I am, I jumped out of my color comfort zone and went a little WILD!  I slapped my coffee cup stamp onto an acrylic block, pulled out some of my favorite FSJ acrylic paints, gel medium, modeling paste, grabbed a flower-ish stencil and got MESSY!
I decided this time I would go all mixed media and create something wild and crazy...and of course ME being a person who loves adding layers upon layers of ribbon, papers and medium...I just couldn't hold back!
Here she is in all her vibrant glory!  A bit much?  ehhh???  I don't know.  I'm kinda diggin' it...or, maybe it's the coffee buzz talking.  Either way, another one in the books!  :)
After stamping the cups with Black Licorice ink, I painted them a bit with some of my FSJ reinkers and some blending solution, then applied Prismacolor pencils on them for added color.  I fussy cut those babies out and set them aside for the collage.  I also cut out the leftover parts from some flower diecuts I had sitting around.  It's nice to use these scraps too!
Of course, I had to add a SWEET sentiment and some little candy dots!  :)  Hope you enjoyed my creation and I'll see you tomorrow for round 6 of my Coffee Lovin' Crafty Adventure!

Summer Coffee Lovers Hop Day 4: Hello Lovely...

Hello there caffeinated hoppers!  Welcome to day 4 of the Summer Coffee Lovers Hop!  After a long day with students (the last few days of school), I came home and just needed a pick-me-up!  I brewed a strong cup of coffee and headed to my stamping room...Yeah, I took a few sips, put my cup down, and got to work.  You see: my medium of choice tonight is fresh brewed coffee...and boy did it pick-me-up!  I dipped a cup into the cuppa joe (Go Cyclones!) and placed it purposefully onto my watercolor paper.  Yeah!  Coffee ring!  I Got out my heat gun and blasted it away.  It brought out the yummy color and sent an aroma dancing around my room.  PURE BLISS!
After finishing up the base, I decided to take some of the leftover coffee filter from a previous CL Hop project, dip it into the coffee, dry it crisp, then zip it through my sewing machine a few times.  I attached this filter in a pleated fashion to my card panel using some fab. double-sided adhesive liner tape from FSJ...It's the good stuff if you know what I mean.
I used a scrap piece of the panel for a border along the "ruffles".  Notice I dipped the edges into gold embossing powder for some extra contrast and detail.  Next, I was on to stamping and coloring this pretty flower.  I think it's a daisy or maybe a mum...Who knows!  I colored it using a paint brush and my FSJ ink pad inks.  Sooo yummy!  I fussy cut the flower using my FSJ Detail Pro Shears (LOVE THEM!) and then adhered it with some foam squares to the front panel.  I dripped a bit of Journey Glaze into the center of the flower and added some Sparkle dust.  This flower was applied to the card panel after twisting a bit of Journey thread around the golden border strip.
A little close-up of the coloring.  I really LOVE coloring with my FSJ inks!
I added a few pearls here and there and mounted the panel onto a piece of Hazelnut Blend cardstock, then onto an Oatmeal Cookie card base.  MMMM..Fenito!
Here's a detail shot of some of the golden embossed edges and a little dusting on the panel.  I think it just finishes the card off!
