I'm thrilled to pop in today and share a card I created for the Can You Case It? challenge this week. It's a color challenge and I just LOVED the color combo so I had to head to my stamping room and play!

I started out by creating the stamped panel. I used FSJ's new Polkadot Wall stencil. It's a large stencil that works perfectly covering larger areas. I used my finger to apply Pineapple Smoothie ink to the dots. After they were applied, I stamped the Deco Dots ATS all over the image using Butter Cream ink. Next, I applied Butter Cream ink to the solid floral in the Poppy Days set and overstamped that with the lined images using River Stone ink.  

To finish the panel off, I applied a few splatters of Silver Silk, cut the panel in half (so I could make two cards), mounted the panel onto River Stone cardstock, wrapped some Black Journey Twine around it and attached the yellow acrylic bloom (Bloom Benefit with $50.00 purchase!). I also added a circle tag from the Tag This cartridge that I punched using my punch system and then stamped it with the "hello" sentiment from the Tag Elements ATS set.  

After the stamped panels were assembled, I set them aside and started working on my background layer. I used my sewing machine to stitch some meandering lines then attached it to the Summer Days card base. I placed a slightly larger piece of silver polka-dot vellum from Vellum Designer Prints over that to tone down the stitching lines. Mounting the stamped panel was next. I elected to add some foam squares to this panel to add extra dimension.

Today I'm sharing a card I created for the Color Throwdown Challenge this week.  I REALLY love the color combo in CTD355, so I decided to head to my craft room and play. I really love how the card turned out as I felt free to just sit and explore, experiment with different techniques and of course, play...SO FUN!

I started out by creating a strip of colored blocks using the color challenge colors...That turned into incorporating part of a leftover diecut negative (in Pool Play paper), then led to the addition of graph paper, and then a bit of ribbon.  The silver ric-rac, image and sentiment came last...I paged through all my stamp sets and found a set that I would be able to color AND incorporate a lovely sentiment.

The butterfly in the Gifted Wings stamp set was the perfect image for this card.  I colored the butterfly using FSJ re-inkers (Pool Play, River Stone and Banana Creme) and a fine tip paint brush.  I also incorporated some non-traditional layout designs in this card.  I LOVE how it turned out.

FSJCC4 Creative Blooms May Color Challenge...

I'm cutting it to the wire with these little babies!  Here's my project for this month's Creative Blooms Color Challenge.  I created a set of Thank You cards for my guests that played along with me, Richard, Gabby and Dustin at my Make-Live-Share event a little while back.  It was fun being able to work within a color range and the perfect colors for this project.

Here's the color range for the challenge:

To color the little guy, I decided to give him some camo pants and some Army themed clothing.  The yellow balloon represents the traditional ribbon that is tied around every tree, every light post and every mile-marker leading to home...They'll be home soon!

I used the following Copic colors for this project:  E00, 35, 37, 95; G 24, 28; YG25, 45, 97; Y26, 35; YR24; W03 and Multiliner 01.

I fussy cut the little guy and as Richard would say.."If in doubt, Pop it Out!" Soooo...I popped it out with a few dimensional dots, added some Journey Twine, tied some beads on the twine and called the front DONE! 

The inside was also stamped.  I used the Thank You ATS sentiments along with the Footprint and the Tank to finish the card off!  Now I'm outta here to work on more Convention Treats!  Only a few days left....WOOOO!

I'm popping in to share my Make-Live-Share project with you today.  This project was inspired by Richard Garay's treat project that can be seen HERE.  I decided to create a little treat container for the computer specialist at our school.  She's been working like crazy for the past few weeks getting all the computers set up for 3-6 grade students to practice their state testing in Reading and Math.  My third graders did quite well on their practice Reading SOL last week and tomorrow, they take their practice Math SOL.  In Virginia, students in grades 3 and beyond take yearly assessments.  It's not a fun time of year, but we know it must be done.

Do you notice I used this month's Color Challenge Colors?  This will be my fourth entry in the color challenge #FSJCC3, I think!  WOWEE!  I'm loving this unexpected combination! Why not join the fun in creating something for the challenge?!?  You'll be pleasantly surprised with the color mix!

Inside the treat container is a little baggie of Skittles.  They're my most favorite sweet treat and I especially love the orange ones!  Do you have a favorite flavor of Skittles?  Reply in the comments and I'll send YOU a special treat container made especially for you!  

Don't skimp on decorating the back!!!  I used the other half of the die on the back side of the treat container.  As this treat can be viewed "in-the-round", I wanted to make sure to add some special details there too.  

This little treat bag was quite relaxing to make.  It helped calm my nerves while focusing on making something special for someone who has worked hard to set up and prepare so many computers for our testing adventures.  It's high stress for her, so tomorrow she can sit back and wait for the error codes...and pop a few Skittles in between! I hope she enjoys the sweet treat and all the while...helps encourage us all to "Believe".
